Twilight the Movie

I went to the 12:05 showing of this much anticipated movie last Friday. Thursday night the girls and I met at Red Robin to have some dinner and then wait in line for 2 1/2 hours. We had a great time just hanging out and pretending to be teenagers who don't struggle staying up 'til all hours of the night. The theater opened and in we all rushed. There were 13 in our group, so we didn't get to all sit together, but I did get to sit with 2 other fun gals. As the screen became green with the dripping foliage of Eastern Washington everyone in the room got very excited. Then as the movie progressed some in the room were just too loyal to realize it, but the movie was terrible! The acting was bad, the cinematography looked like a home movie most of the time, and the story line deterred from the beloved book too often. Even the mushy sceens we all really wanted to see were so badly done that most in the theater laughed. Now don't get me wrong. I am a fan of the Twilight Saga. I don't regret going to see it because, hey it's Twilight; however it was poorly done. It's too bad because it does have a huge following. I wish another company could pick it up and do Twilight again and then finish the saga. I know that won't happen though. So, if you're a fan you'll probably want to see it anyway, but don't drag someone to see it with you (like your hubby) who isn't a fan. I am glad I went though, I had a great time with my girlfriends. Thanks Megan for orchestrating it all!

  1. The same company is doing New Moon...but I have to say, I really hope they get a new director, a new scriptwriter or BOTH. Oh, and have the principals take more acting lessons.

Still, it was fun hanging out with you!

  2. Amen to a certain extent. I did like it, but it was flawed. Especially with some of the character choices. I went in with low expectations and I think that really helped. I think my biggest problem was that the chemistry was only conveyed a few times, otherwise I was sitting there thinking, do these two people really like each other?

We almost went to Red Robin before seeing it. I love that place.
