Settling in for a Long Winter

As I look out my window and watch the snow falling yet again, I think of how long winter really is. The only redeeming quality of winter is Christmas, and that takes place 4 days after winter begins, leaving up with 3 months of unwanted winter wonderland. Add to that continued nausea, constant headaches, backaches, and a cold that won't go away, I need spring (and this baby) to come already! My poor girls want to enjoy things, but lets face it, mom is really boring right now. So, here is my question to all of you out there. What do you love about winter and what do you do to beat the winter blues? (Heather, I don't want to hear anything about Mexico here either!)

  1. If Mexico isn't an option, you can always turn on the tv and have them watch Daddy with the not so bright lady (but I'm sure she's super nice, just so quick) on Living Essentials. I saw it yesterday and learned a ton.

Or try makeandtakes. She always has great ideas.

Or remember that they won't remember if you don't feel like doing anything.

  2. I love Valentine's Day in February, and I love that I am going to have this baby in 3 weeks. Sorry, you have to wait to pop yours out. Love Audra

  3. When P was an infant our garage was a lifesaver. I just pulled the van out and the kids could ride their bikes and scooters around, play wall ball and zoom around there cars. It was a really good outlet. Beyond that, alot of tv :)

  4. I SO know what you mean! I'm not a huge fan of the Winter months, but I do try to make the best of it. Cache loves to play in the snow out in the backyard. He'll just run around and make big snow mounds, but after about 15 minutes he's ready to come in! We have hot chocolate, make cookies, color, build things with blocks...sometimes we just cuddle under blankets and have movie days. Forts! I tell you, forts will save your life. A few chairs and their favorite blankets? They will play with that for weeks...
